Qualcomm announces Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2
Qualcomm has announced the launch of its Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 Spatial Computing Platform, laying a solid foundation for the creation of leading Mixed Reality (MR), Virtual Reality (VR), and smart glasses devices. Featuring a single-chip architecture, it supports spatial computing with a 4.3K display resolution at 90FPS, delivering an astoundingly clear visual experience for both work and entertainment.
Compared to the Snapdragon XR2 released several months ago, the new Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 boasts a 15% increase in GPU frequency and a 20% increase in CPU frequency. These enhancements pave the way for more realistic and richly detailed MR and VR experiences. Devices equipped with the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 can support 12 or more parallel cameras and powerful on-device AI, effortlessly tracking users’ movements and their surroundings for seamless navigation between physical and digital spaces.
“Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 unlocks 4.3K resolution which will take XR productivity and entertainment to the next level by bringing spectacularly clear visuals to use cases such as room-scale screens, life-size overlays, and virtual desktops,” said Hugo Swart, vice president and general manager of XR, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We are advancing our commitment to power the best XR devices and experiences that will supercharge our immersive future.”
