QNAP Releases TS-262 and TS-462 NAS
QNAP recently launched the TS-x62 series NAS. There are two models, TS-262 and TS-462. Among them, TS-262 has two 3.5-inch hard disk bays, and TS-462 has four 3.5-inch hard disk bays.
TS-x62 series NAS is equipped with an Intel Celeron N4505 processor, which adopts a 10nm manufacturing process and dual-core dual-thread design. The base frequency is 2.0GHz, the acceleration frequency is 2.9GHz, it has a 4MB L3 cache, supports DDR4 or LPDDR4X memory, the maximum supported memory frequency is 2933MHz, and the TDP is 10W. The Celeron N4505 is equipped with a UHD core graphics card (16 EU), with a base frequency of 450MHz and an acceleration frequency of 750MHz.
In terms of external interfaces, both models have a 2.5G network port, an HDMI2.1 interface, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A interfaces, and two USB 2.0 interfaces. In terms of internal expansion, both models provide one PCI-E 3.0 x2 slot and two 2280 specification PCIe 3.0 x1 M.2 slots. TS-462 has two SO-DIMM DDR4 memory slots, which can support up to 16GB of memory, and 2GB of memory is pre-installed at the factory. TS-262 is pre-installed with 4GB memory, which cannot be upgraded.
Because the two models support different numbers of disk slots, the body size and weight are also different. TS-462 measures 168x170x226mm, weighs 2.26Kg, and is equipped with a 120mm fan and a 90W power adapter; TS-262 measures 168x105x226mm, weighs 1.55Kg, and is equipped with a 70mm fan and a 65W power adapter.
Both models are pre-installed with QTS 5.0 system, which adopts the new Linux kernel, optimizes the system fluency and user interface, and enhances the reliability of the system at the same time. By installing Plex or Qmedia software, users can stream media files in the NAS to mobile phones, tablets, Apple TVs, and other devices. The system also integrates the Intel OpenVINO AI engine to achieve faster image recognition, and users can also choose Edge TPU to further improve the image recognition speed.
TS-462 and TS-262 have been sold in QNAP accessories stores, and the prices are $469 and $369.
