NVIDIA will launch the GeForce RTX 30 “Lite Hash Rate” series in mid-May
According to news in the past period of time, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will reach the consumer market in a relatively short period of time. Compared with GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3070, in addition to higher performance, people are more interested in the new version of the cryptocurrency mining limiter. At the same time, the new GPU is likely to already support Rezisable BAR without waiting for the vBIOS update.
Nvidia will soon launch an updated version of GAxx2 chips to partners, and it is expected to start shipping in mid-May, which means that the first batch of chips will be put on the market in June. Nvidia describes these new versions of chips as “Lite Hash Rate”, which is also the way Nvidia describes when communicating with partners.
Obviously, the new version of “Lite Hash Rate” GPU will cover all the GeForce RTX 30 series products that Nvidia has released. Of course, Nvidia will also use a new core code name for the updated GPU, which is the only way to distinguish whether the new version or the old version of the GPU is used in the same graphics card. The specific change is as follows:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090-GA102-300 -> GA102-302
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti-GA102-250
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080-GA102-200 -> GA102-202
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti-GA104-400
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070-GA104-300 -> GA104-302
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti-GA104-200 -> GA104-202
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060-GA106-300 -> GA106-302
With the launch of the LHR version of the GeForce RTX 30 series, the supply of Ampere-based products should be improved. At that time, NVIDIA may explain what specific measures have been taken to limit the mining performance of the new version of GPU. The previous limitation of GeForce RTX 3060 is obviously no longer valid, and the result is quite embarrassing. VideoCardz reported that there is news that the GeForce RTX 3090 may be the only GPU in the entire series that will not introduce a new version of the cryptocurrency mining limiter. Due to the high price and its specifications and design, it is not so cost-effective for mining. The updated version is probably just to support Rezisable BAR.
