It was previously reported that NVIDIA would launch a 12GB version of the RTX 2060 graphics card on December 7. In fact, we thought this card would double the memory capacity of the RTX 2060, but it may not be that simple in practice.
According to Videocardz, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12GB graphics card has increased its memory capacity from 6GB to 12GB, and the number of CUDA cores has also increased from 1920 to 2176, that is to upgrade from RTX 2060 level to RTX 2060 SUPER level, in addition, TDP is also increased from 160W to 184W, which is higher than the 175W of RTX 2060 SUPER. Of course, the memory capacity is 192bit instead of 256bit, otherwise, the memory capacity is 16GB instead of 12GB.
They said that three sources have confirmed this news. As for the frequency of the graphics card, there are two sources claiming that the Boost frequency is 1650MHz, while the overclocked version of the graphics card is 1690MHz. It is expected that this graphics card will be launched on December 7 as a cheap alternative to RTX 3060. In fact, the performance of the RTX 3060 graphics card is about 8% faster than RTX 2060 SUPER. Now the GPU specifications of RTX 2060 12GB are basically the same as RTX 2060 SUPER. But the video memory bit width has been reduced, the performance may not be so high, and compared with the RTX 3060, the optical chasing ability may be a bit larger, and it lacks the support of PCI-E 4.0 and ResizableBAR. Of course, the most important thing about this card is its price and whether you can buy it.
