Noctua releases NH-D12L chromax.black air cooler

Noctua has announced the launch of its NH-D12L chromax.black air cooler, further expanding its esteemed product line. This new addition maintains fidelity to the original design while introducing a captivating stealth black aesthetic.

Roland Mossig, the Chief Executive Officer of Noctua, remarked that the NH-D12L has emerged as a popular choice for compact high-performance systems, such as the Lian Li O11 Dynamic or the DAN C4-SFX. The new chromax.black variant offers enthusiasts a fresh option for all-black PC setups, without compromising the NH-D12L’s renowned quiet and efficient cooling performance.

The NH-D12L chromax.black measures 145mm x 125mm x 113mm and weighs 890g. Despite its dual-tower structure, it is compatible with broad 4U cases and slim tower cases that only accommodate 92mm fans. Its ingenuity lies in the use of the NF-A12x25r PWM chromax.black fan, a 120mm fan designed to fit 92mm fan mounts. This design enables it to maintain the blade size of a 120mm fan while reducing its overall dimensions. Although smaller than a standard 120mm cooler, the NH-D12L’s performance effortlessly surpasses that of 92mm coolers.

The NF-A12x25r PWM chromax.black features SSO2 bearings, with a speed range of 450 to 2000 RPM±10%. With the low-noise adaptor, the maximum speed is reduced to 1700 RPM. It offers a maximum airflow of 102.1 m³/h, which drops to 84.5 m³/h with the low-noise adaptor, and a maximum noise level of 22.6 dBA. Users have the option to add a second fan, although it should be noted that this second fan’s placement near the memory or motherboard I/O area may increase the cooler’s height beyond 145mm.

Noctua has priced the NH-D12L chromax.black air cooler at $99.90.
