Silence & Style Collide: All-Black RTX 4080 Noctua Fan Mod Unveiled

A few days ago, ASUS and Noctua joined forces once again to launch the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16GB GDDR6X Noctua OC Edition, continuing their collaborative efforts. This edition is equipped with two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, employing the brand’s signature beige and brown color scheme. In terms of appearance, it bears a strong resemblance to past RTX 30/40 series Noctua products, with a thickness that even surpasses four slots.

However, not all enthusiasts are fond of Noctua’s standard color scheme, finding it challenging to match with other hardware components for a cohesive theme PC build. Recently, a user revealed their project to create an all-black Noctua Edition product, utilizing the Noctua’s chromax.black series NF-A12x25 fans.

While ASUS and Noctua have not officially confirmed any designs based on the chromax.black series, it’s clear that the all-black aesthetic is well-received by many in the gaming community, earning considerable praise. The images show the graphics card retaining its original components but with a custom black protective cover dominating the design, with ASUS and Noctua’s logos preserved on the front and side. The enthusiast’s modification project is currently ongoing, with more updates to follow.

In the original version, ASUS optimized the cooling module to accommodate the two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans, considering their airflow characteristics for enhanced cooling performance while maintaining low noise levels and smooth acoustic properties, including support for 0dB technology. Engineers meticulously adjusted the heatsink’s fin structure, density, and the arrangement of heat pipes, also retaining the design of the uniform heat spreader.
