MSI announced the RTX 4060 Gaming X/Ventus 2X graphics card
Last month on the 18th, NVIDIA introduced its new generation of mainstream GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. The lineup comprises three models: the GeForce RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, with suggested retail prices of $299, $399, and $499 respectively. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB hit the market on the 24th of May, 2023, and based on previous reports, the GeForce RTX 4060 is slated for release on June 29th.
As the release date approaches, MSI has revealed its initial GeForce RTX 4060 graphics cards, specifically the GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming 8G and GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X Black 8G, both of which are dressed in an all-black, lightless finish and will be offered in OC versions. These double-slot cards are expected to be conducive to excellent system compatibility, proving user-friendly. The former’s overall dimensions are 247 x 130 x 41 mm, while the latter measures 199 x 120 x 41 mm, both of which were previously seen at Computex 2023.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming 8G incorporates the Twin Frozr 9 cooling solution, utilizing a nickel-plated copper base plate and two Torx 5.0 cooling fans. The fan blades sport a subtle 22° inclination, which MSI claims boosts airflow by 23% compared to conventional axial fans. Conversely, the GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X Black 8G presents a more understated appearance with a more compact cooling module and two Torx 4.0 cooling fans. Both models feature a display output configuration of three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and one HDMI 2.1a port, and each uses a conventional 8-pin power connector.
Both the GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming 8G and GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X Black 8G have a boosted clock speed of 2475 MHz, a 15 MHz improvement over the reference models. The OC variants, namely the GeForce RTX 4060 Gaming 8G OC and GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X Black 8G OC, will see their boost clocks further elevated to 2610 MHz and 2505 MHz respectively.
