Microsoft will release Windows 10 v2004 on May 28 due to a zero-day vulnerability
Previously, well-known technology editor, Mary Jo Foley obtained internal Microsoft information that the company will release the Windows 10 version 2004 RTM image on April 28.
But as you know, Microsoft has not released this version as scheduled and has not released the official version image. The latest news is that there is still a serious zero-day vulnerability in this version.
And Microsoft hopes to completely fix the vulnerability before launching the official version to users. The new timetable has been moved to May 28.
The new schedule that Mary obtained is that on May 5, Microsoft will provide the repaired image to OEM manufacturers on May 12, and start to push to Windows 10 users on May 28.
Perhaps, we should be able to see the OEM version of the image leaked on May 6, and the consumer version of the image will be publicly available for user upgrades on May 12.
By the end of this month, Microsoft’s push was also carried out in batches. At that time, devices with better compatibility and relatively newer devices will be the first to get the new version.
From the currently known information, it can be seen that Windows 10 Version 2004 has already been completed, and Microsoft has spent a long time testing and fixing various problems. This postponement of the release due to the zero-day vulnerability is still understandable.
Of course, the version number of the final version may not be the Build 19041.208 version we mentioned, and the version number will continue to rise through cumulative updates.
Users who have upgraded this version do not need to worry, it is expected that starting from the 12th of this month, Microsoft will continue to push cumulative updates to fix vulnerabilities and other known issues.
