Microsoft will discontinue support for .NET Core 2.2 on December 23, 2019
.NET Core 2.2 was released on December 4, 2018. As a non-LTS version, it is only supported for three months after the next version is released. .NET Core 3.0 was released on September 23, so support for .NET Core 2.2 will end on December 23. This means that after this date Microsoft will not provide any update packages for container images for .NET Core 2.2.
Microsoft recommends that the next version of the .NET Core 2.2 upgrade is .NET Core 3.1. .NET Core 3.1 is a long-term support release that Microsoft will provide for three years. Developers can upgrade directly from .NET Core 2.2.
There are two versions of .NET Core. One is the Long-Term support version, which is suitable for applications that are not frequently updated, and the Current version is more suitable for applications in development because new features are continuously added due to user feedback.
