Microsoft releases KB5007262 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11
Microsoft said that the 3D emoji system has no plans to support Windows 11 for the time being. At present, the emoji system updated by Microsoft in the Windows 11 development version is the 2D version, which is exactly the flat version of the 3D emoji shown by Microsoft.
Recently, Microsoft officially released an optional update to Windows 11. This update KB5007262 brings a new emoji system.
Changelog KB5007262
- We updated several aspects of Windows emoji. As part of an iterative and ongoing work, we have made the following improvements for this release:
- Updated all emoji in the Segoe UI Emoji font to the Fluent 2D emoji style
- Included support for Emoji 13.1, which:
- Updated the emoji dictionary
- Added the ability to search for Emoji 13.1 in all supported languages
- Updated the Emoji and more panel so you can enter emoji in your applications
KB5007262 is a category C update that is optional. It has a test nature and is usually downloaded and installed only when the user actively clicks the check update button.
Based on the above reasons, it is recommended that users who are pursuing stability should not click to check for updates, so as to avoid new problems after the installation of the Cumulative Update Preview and affect the normal use of the system.
After the update, use the Win+period or Win+semicolon shortcut key combination to open the emoji panel. The new version supports all new emojis in Emoji 13.1.
