Microsoft recommends that Win 10 users who lose data to wait for repairs
After the user claimed that the update erased their data without their permission, the Windows 10 2018 October update is no longer available for download. From the report, it seems that the deletion is not common, but the upgrade will be suspended until the investigation is over.
“We have suspended the Windows 10 2018 update (version 1809) to all users because we are investigating isolated reports of users losing certain files after the update,” Microsoft explained.
Previously, Microsoft Windows test team leader Dona Sarkar explained that affected users could contact the company’s support team to recover lost data.
Now, Microsoft has updated the support documentation and recommends that users minimise the use of affected devices. If you have lost your data after installing the data, you can contact your company’s support team to recover the files:
Dona Sarkar explained that opening the personal document folder allows you to check if the file was deleted after installing Windows 10 October 2018 Update. If all your data still exists, you can start using them without taking any action. However, if the file disappears, it is recommended that you minimise the use of the device and contact Microsoft directly via + 1-800-MICROSOFT.
If only they are deleted, call our support line. They have the tools to help you recover. +1-800-MICROSOFT or find a local number in your area https://t.co/TeOjQlKpdv.
