Microsoft is expected to address issues with the Windows 10 File Explorer search feature in the next month
Microsoft is currently making adjustments to the Windows 10 File Explorer search function. Some features will be removed, but Microsoft also added some new features and so on. For example, in the Windows 10 v1909 version, the content searched by the user will display the corresponding preview according to the file format, so that the user can more easily judge the file when looking for the file. Unfortunately, although it brings new features, Microsoft also brings new problems, such as a stuck in the search box may cause File Explorer to crash.
The problems caused by the cumulative update released by Microsoft this month are not only stuck and crashed. When users try to paste the content into the search box, they will find it invalid. The invalid paste is also a problem caused by the latest cumulative update. In addition, users cannot right-click to delete some specific search history records through the search box.
“We’ve updated the new File Explorer search experience to enable you to remove previous searches via an option if you right click the entry in the dropdown,” the company said.
This is pretty basic stuff and users are apparently not happy with Microsoft’s quality control:
“This is seriously bad quality control. As far as quality and reliability, Windows 7 was definitely the better product. It’s too bad because I do like Windows 10 but the fact a different part of it breaks as often as it has been lately makes Microsoft look like a company that’s struggling,” a user wrote in Microsoft’s community forum.
But even if users complain that the problem cannot be solved quickly, because there are still about three weeks before the cumulative update release next month, Microsoft will fix it next month.
