Microsoft cooperates with NASA to provide Python for space exploration and artificial intelligence courses
Microsoft announced that it has reached a cooperation with NASA and put forward some ideas on how to use Python for space exploration. The two parties have collaborated to create three learning modules based on Python. These modules can teach beginners how to use Python language and machine learning algorithms to explore space, classify space rocks, and predict weather and rocket launch delays.
Interested users can start learning as long as they have a Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. The course content includes the basic knowledge of programming language, how to use Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code (VS Code) code editor, install Python extensions, and how to run a basic Jupyter Notebook in VS Code.
- Introduction to Python for space exploration
Get an introduction to the types of space exploration problems that Python and data science can influence.- Classify space rocks by using Python and artificial intelligence
This learning path gives you a view into the worlds of AI and space. Learn how to create an AI model that can classify different types of space rocks in random photos.- Predict rocket launch delays with machine learning
This learning path introduces you to the world of machine learning. You’ll take a real-life problem that NASA faces and apply machine learning to solve it. The goal is to get students excited and curious to discover how machine learning could help solve other problems in space discovery and different aspects of life.
