Microsoft brags about how the company solved hundreds of millions of Windows 10 failures in 24 hours
Although Windows 10 stability has always been complained about, Microsoft feels good about itself and often brags about its quick response.
Recently, Microsoft has released a new blog describing how the company can solve hundreds of millions of device failures within 24 hours. This technology has been deployed in 2019.
This technology is called automatic Known Issue Rollback. When Microsoft finds a problem with an update, it can automatically delete the update through the back-end server update.
Microsoft said that the company began deploying Known Issue Rollback technology two years ago, which can be used when Microsoft finds that an update is faulty.
For example, when a serious failure of a regular update is found, Microsoft will immediately deploy a strategy in the cloud to stop the push, thereby reducing the total number of users who encounter the problem.
Subsequently, Microsoft will deploy a new strategy again to automatically delete updates for Windows 10 that has installed faulty updates, and the entire process will be completed automatically.
It is worth noting that although Microsoft is fancy, the effect may not be good, because the technology is only applicable to regular updates and does not support security updates.
The reason is that the security update contains a variety of security fixes. If the security update is rolled back and deleted, the old code will be introduced to bring the vulnerability back to the system.
It is also true that if we uninstall certain cumulative updates in the control panel, it will fail. These updates containing security codes are usually solidified into the system.
