Microsoft announces Xbox Everywhere plan
In the past few years, Microsoft has continued to promote cloud gaming services with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and the number of users of Xbox Cloud Gaming has exceeded 10 million. Microsoft is not satisfied with this and recently took another important step, announcing the Xbox Everywhere program, which aims to allow more devices to enjoy Xbox Cloud Gaming.
It is understood that the first step in the Xbox Everywhere plan is to cooperate with Epic to play Fortnite without a subscription service. Microsoft promises this is just the “start” of its free games. According to Microsoft insiders, the goal of the Xbox Everywhere program is to allow players to play their entire game library through the cloud. In order to promote the implementation of the program, Microsoft also plans to release streaming media devices and applications to make it easier for players to access cloud games.
VentureBeat further revealed details of Microsoft’s Xbox Everywhere plans, saying that the Xbox team is working with Samsung to develop an Xbox streaming app for its TVs. Microsoft’s choice makes sense, after all, Samsung is the world’s largest TV maker, and Sony is a common competitor. VentureBeat also confirmed Microsoft’s plans for a streaming device, saying it can stream games and videos. It is reported that related devices and applications will be launched in the next 12 months.
