Microsoft, Amazon and Huawei are currently leading the IoT platform market
Recently, a network research institute Counterpoint Research released an analysis report on market participants in the Internet of Things platform. The report said that the Microsoft Azure IoT platform leads the Internet of Things platform market with more complete functions and stronger interoperability.
The report stated that the Microsoft Azure IoT platform has a total of 26 features out of a total of 35 features under the three categories of Edge IoT, Cloud IoT, and Platform Performance, which are higher than the average score of the entire market.
The report says:
Microsoft Azure IoT platform leads the overall evaluation in 26 out of 35 capabilities across Edge IoT, Cloud IoT, and Platform Performance categories. Coming from a strong enterprise cloud business, Microsoft Azure IoT is the only end-to-end platform that has successfully built its Edge IoT capabilities and offers greater interoperability with other value chain players.
The report also mentioned data from other IoT platforms. We learned that the Amazon AWS IoT platform ranks second. Although the Amazon AWS IoT platform also performs well in terms of functional integrity, they are behind in Edge IoT Compared with competitors such as Microsoft, and at the same time compared with Microsoft’s 26 features higher than the average score of peers, Amazon only achieved 10 items.
The third place is Huawei. Their overall level of performance is good, and they provide Edge IoT functions, and their IoT customers in China and Europe are growing, but current US sanctions could slow its enterprise IoT business outside China.
