Lumia 950 XL can already run x64 desktop software

The WoA project has made new progress once again. After Microsoft brings x64 emulation in preview for Windows 10 on ARM PCs, WoA developers quickly adapted.

The x64 emulator was previously promised by Microsoft. This emulator allows the Windows 10 ARM version to run 64-bit desktop software to expand the range of supported software.

Previously, this version only supported UWP software and the ARM native version, resulting in a lack of software. Later, after Microsoft developed the x86 emulator, it only slightly eased the dilemma.

Microsoft’s various support work also brought dawn to the Lumia series of devices, as the WoA project is providing more and more functions due to the efforts of third-party developers.

Microsoft released the first preview of x64 emulation for ARM64 devices to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel starting with the Build 21277, with the help of the emulator ARM device can easily run 64-bit software.

The WoA project has initially supported this version after adaptation, and an independent developer also successfully runs 64-bit software after flashing this version into Lumia 950 XL.

Of course, this is not the final solution for the user, because the screen adaptation problem is possible to run the desktop software, but some areas may be difficult to click.

However, it may not be time for ordinary users to temporarily use the WoA project. Even if they can successfully flash the system, they still lack some functional experience.
