LG releases 40WP95CP-W Curved UltraWide monitor
LG announces the launch of its new UltraWide series monitor, designated as the 40WP95CP-W. The 40WP95CP-W features a 39.7-inch ultra-wide curved screen, equipped with a native 10-bit Nano IPS panel, offering a resolution of 5120 x 2160, 178°/178° viewing angles, a 72Hz refresh rate, a 5ms response time (GtG), a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1000:1, 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and support for HDR10 and AMD FreeSync technology. LG has not specified the monitor’s curvature, but it is estimated to be between 1500R and 1800R. The monitor also includes additional features such as a black stabilizer and Dynamic Action Sync, the latter of which reduces input lag.
The 40WP95CP-W comes equipped with two HDMI ports (resolution limited to 3440 x 1440), one DisplayPort 1.4 port, a 3.5mm audio jack, one Thunderbolt 4 port, and one USB-C port (compatible with DisplayPort Alt-Mode and 96W Power Delivery). The monitor has built-in 5W speakers and features two USB 3.0 ports on the side. The display is notably energy-efficient, with a maximum power consumption of 70W and typical power consumption of 60W, which is a reduction compared to the 40WP95CP released in 2021 (max 88W/typical 80W).
LG has equipped the 40WP95CP-W with an adjustable, swiveling ergonomic stand, offering a height adjustment range of 0 to 110mm, horizontal swivel from -15° to 15°, and forward/backward tilt from -5° to 20°. Additionally, the 40WP95CP-W supports 100 x 100 mm VESA wall-mount compatibility, facilitating the use of articulating arm mounts for gamers.
This monitor is not designed for gamers but rather targets professional users. LG has not provided pricing or a specific release date for the 40WP95CP-W. Rumors suggest a price of approximately €1,339, with availability anticipated soon.
