LG OLED Flex released: The world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED TV

Earlier, Corsair announced a partnership with LG to launch the XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 OLED, a gaming monitor that players can manually adjust the curvature of the monitor. As new display technologies mature, LG also seems intent on expanding the use of adjustable-curvature display devices.

LG announced the launch of the LG OLED Flex (model LX3), the world’s first TV with a bendable 42-inch OLED panel. LG says the new TVs are ideal for immersive gaming, whether it’s a console or PC or cloud gaming while allowing users to enjoy live TV and streaming services well.

The LG OLED Flex has a resolution of 4K, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and is equipped with LG Super Anti-Reflection (SAR) coating to reduce visual interference, equipped with LG’s α 9 Gen 5 processor to provide unique algorithms and realistic images, equipped with HDMI 2.1 port, with a response time of 0.1ms, supports Dolby Vision, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), is AMD FreeSync Premium certified, and is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC for tear-free, stutter-free visuals. It is equipped with a 40W speaker, has a built-in microphone, and has echo cancellation.

Using the dedicated buttons on the remote, the user can select the desired radian from 20 curvature levels, each with a 5% change, ranging from flat to 900R curvature. In addition, the stand of the LG OLED Flex can be tilted 10 degrees forward or 5 degrees backward, and can also be adjusted in height, with 140mm of upward or downward adjustment space to meet the ergonomic comfort of the user when sitting up or lying back. The LG OLED Flex also features a switching hub for easy connection of headphones, mouse, and keyboard via the USB port.

LG has not yet disclosed the price of the LG OLED Flex and the specific time to market.
