Lenovo unveils the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2
MWC 2023 is being held in Barcelona, Spain, and as one of the exhibitors, Lenovo has brought many new products to this exhibition. For example, the new IdeaPad Duet 3i notebook, which is mainly aimed at students and the education industry, is equipped with an Intel N-series processor. At the same time, the ThinkPad Z series, which is equipped with an AMD Ryzen mobile processor, has also been updated, including the Z13 Gen 2 and Z16 Gen 2, both of which use the latest Ryzen 7000 mobile processor. Given that the Ryzen 7000 mobile processor does not maintain consistency in CPU and GPU architecture, Lenovo has emphasized that they are processors with Radeon 700M series graphics cards.
Citing Lenovo’s news release room and Liliputing, in addition to the processor update, the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 also brings changes to the appearance design. Lenovo has covered the A-side of this notebook with woven Flax material, hoping to bring users a different touch and to make the appearance of the entire device more consistent, Lenovo has also allocated copper and gold colors to other parts, which looks really recognizable. In addition, Lenovo also provides a common aluminum alloy A-side version for users to choose from.
This 13-inch notebook is also fully loaded in other configurations. It can provide up to 64GB of dual-channel LPDDR5x memory and a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, as well as a 2.8K OLED display. However, Lenovo has not mentioned the specific processor model of this notebook. Considering that this is an ultra-thin notebook with a thickness of only 14mm (the overall size is 294 x 200 x 14mm), it is likely that this is an AMD processor that has not been released yet. After all, processors currently equipped with Radeon 700M series graphics cards are all Ryzen 7x40H series with a TDP in the range of 35-54W, which may not be suitable for ultra-thin notebooks.
