KB4512941 for Windows 10 v1903 causes Windows Search is broke and Cortana process in taskmanager takes 90% cpu
Although Microsoft is working hard to improve the Windows Update upgrade experience, the recent cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1903, KB4512941 has been a serious problem. Some users report that KB4512941 will make their device CPU usage too high. In addition, Cortana process in taskmanager takes 90% cpu, this cumulative update also undermines the system’s search experience.
According to user posts on Feedback Hub, Reddit, and Microsoft forum, installing this cumulative update will cause Windows Search to return blank search results, making the built-in search functionality of Windows 10 systems completely unusable. The main reason for this problem is that Microsoft did not make proper adjustments to the registry and group policies when it stripped Cortana and Windows Search.
According to the post reply on the Feedback Hub, Microsoft is investigating this issue internally, but the company has not yet announced a temporary solution or official statement.
