Judge prevents the U.S. Department of Justice from blocking WeChat

Earlier, US President Trump signed an executive order requiring Apple and Google to remove WeChat from their app stores and prohibit Americans from continuing to download and install.

In order to protect their own interests, US WeChat users formed the US WeChat User Association and hired lawyers to sue the US Department of Justice in court to prevent the ban from continuing to be enforced.

Trump and the U.S. Department of Justice banned them on the grounds of endangering U.S. national security. However, the U.S. judge believed that the U.S. Department of Justice lacked substantive evidence.

Subsequently, the judge supported the request of the lawyers to make a ruling to prevent the execution of Trump’s executive order. The US Department of Justice refused to accept the ruling and then applied it to the judge to execute the order.

The judge has rejected the request of the US Department of Justice to maintain the previous ruling, which prohibits the US Department of Justice from executing the injunction to remove WeChat from the store.

After the first round of rulings, the U.S. Department of Justice submitted to the court so-called evidence that endangers U.S. national security as required. However, the judge believed that the evidence submitted was insufficient.
