iPhone 12 bug: unable to receive SMS and other information notifications
Since its release, the iPhone 12 series mobile phones have experienced many problems, such as poor signal, touched paint, and so on. Now, this series of mobile phones have a new problem, that is, unable to receive SMS or corresponding information notifications.
Apple released the iPhone 12 series of mobile phones in October. There are four models in this series, namely iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. These four models all support 5G networks and are equipped with OLED full screens and A14 bionic chips.

Macrumors reports that some users complained that they did not see SMS messages from friends, missed messages in group chats, and did not receive notifications when they received text messages. A user describes:
But I just upgraded to an iPhone 12 (coming from an iPhone 11 Max Pro), and I am in a group message with my kids. One of my kids is an Android user. Last night he came up to me and asked me why I didn’t reply to his two text messages he sent to the group. I checked my iPhone, and I didn’t receive any text messages from him in the group chat. He then showed me his phone, and sure enough, he had sent them to the group.
At present, it is not clear whether this issue is related to the iPhone 12 model or the latest iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, but most of the feedback comes from iPhone 12 users.
The above problems may need to be resolved by the operator via updating the firmware, or Apple needs to fix the above problems in an upcoming software update.
