Intel’s first batch of Core i9-12900KS has been delivered to users
Intel has confirmed at the CES 2022 show at the beginning of the year that it will launch the Core i9-12900KS, which is a product designed for high-end enthusiasts and overclocking enthusiasts. Although Intel has yet to release the Core i9-12900KS, users have already placed an order through retailers to buy one. It is understood that this is the first batch of Core i9-12900KS processors with OPN codes.
According to VideoCardz, the retailer has now removed the Core i9-12900KS sales page, which was priced at about $790 at the time, and a user named Daginatsuko is likely to be the first to get it. According to the photos provided by Daginatsuko, it can be seen that the packaging of the Core i9-12900KS has a slight change, which is darker than that of the Core i9-12900, and is printed with the words “Special Edition”.
Core i9-12900KS continues the basic framework of Core i9-12900K. It is also equipped with 8 performance cores based on the Golden Cove architecture (Performance Core) and 8 energy efficiency cores (Efficient Core) based on the Gracemont architecture, with 16 cores and 24 thread specifications, and configured with 30MB of L3 cache and 14MB of L2 cache. Its PL1 will be increased from 125W to 150W, and its PL2 will be increased from 241W to 260W.
In addition, the P-Core base clock of the Core i9-12900KS is 3.4 GHz, and the boost clock can reach 5.5 GHz. To reach a higher clock, Intel uses the exclusive Enhanced Thermal Velocity Boost (ETVB) technology on the Core i9-12900KS. However, no specific details were disclosed, and it is likely to increase the core voltage of the Core i9-12900KS.
