Samsung CEO apologizes for Galaxy S22 series limited performance issues

Samsung Galaxy S22 series flagships seem to have encountered some “setbacks” recently. The reason is that many users find that the gaming performance of Samsung Galaxy S22 series phones is limited. Samsung’s explanation for this is that GOS is a built-in program that increases the battery’s battery life and prevents the phone from overheating, a practice that consumers believe deceives them.

According to the sammobile report, at the 54th annual general meeting of Samsung Electronics that was held not long ago, Samsung Electronics CEO JH Han officially apologized to shareholders for the GOS limitation of app performance on its flagship Galaxy S22 series. He said the company didn’t fully understand consumers’ concerns about the performance of mobile apps and games while noting that Samsung wouldn’t lower the quality of its devices to cut costs.

According to reports, the GOS application is pre-installed on all three models of the Galaxy S22 series, which limits the performance of more than 1,000 applications and games. The principle is that it limits the performance of the mobile phone CPU and GPU through the Game Optimization Service (GOS) running in the background. The result is that many Galaxy S22 users find performance poor when using apps or gaming.

At present, Samsung has released a new system update, which will remove the performance limitation problem, but this update is currently only available in a few countries, and it is expected that it will take some time to cover the world. Interestingly, some users even demanded that Samsung should delete the GOS background program, and South Korea’s FTC (Fair Trade Commission) has begun to investigate this mobile phone performance limitation.
