Intel Releases Third Generation Specification for Evo Platform

Today Intel officially launched the 12th generation Core P-series and U-series processors, further expanding its mobile platform product line, twenty new mobile processors will be used in the next generation of thin and light notebooks, which can provide outstanding performance and excellent productivity. In addition, Intel has further upgraded the original Evo platform brand certification, launched the third generation specification, and related products will also be launched one after another.

Intel launched the Evo platform brand in 2020, and notebooks based on the Intel Evo platform brand passed the second edition of Project Athena’s specifications and key experience indicators. Its laptops feature 11th Gen Core i7 or i5 mobile processors, Iris Xe graphics, best-in-class wired and wireless connectivity, integrated Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), and comes with premium audio, cameras, and displays for the highest quality experience.


In this third edition of the specification, new requirements have also been made for related technical indicators, including the 12th generation Core i9/i7/i5 series mobile processors, Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Intel Connectivity Performance Suite, dynamic background noise cancellation, FHD or better camera, and Intel Vision Sensing Technology, etc. While most new technologies are improvements to existing functionality, the requirements are very detailed. Intel said the new specification can provide a new smart collaboration experience, continuous response, instant wake-up (less than 1 second), more than 9 hours of real battery life, fast charging, and more. More than 100 Evo-certified products are expected to hit the market this year, including first-time devices with foldable screens and 12th-generation Core H-series processors.
