Intel has previously introduced processors specifically tailored for the domestic market, including the Core i5-12490F, i5-13490F, and i7-13790F. These models, offering a more compelling price-performance ratio, boast higher frequencies and larger L3 cache sizes compared to their slightly lower-tier counterparts, the i5-12400F/i5-13400F/i7-13700F. This year, with the 14th-generation processors, Intel is likely to continue this trend of launching similar market-specific products.

Recently, a netizen leaked an image of the Intel Core i5-14490F, revealing that it shares the same core/thread count as its contemporaneous i5-14400F, featuring 10 cores and 16 threads composed of 6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Its base frequency remains at 2.5 GHz, with a TDP of 65W.

Following the positioning of the previous two generations, i5-12490F, and i5-13490F, the distinction between i5-14490F and i5-14400F lies in the former’s retail availability primarily in boxed form, coupled with a higher turbo frequency reaching 5.0 GHz, which is 0.3 GHz higher than the i5-14400F. While the L3 cache capacity of the i5-14490F remains unknown, based on the specifications of the i5-13490F, it is highly probable to be 24MB, with a stepping similar to the i5-14600K, which is C0.

We previously reported that Intel has finalized the launch date for its 14th generation non-K series processors, scheduled for January 8, 2024, at 3 PM Pacific Time, which is tomorrow. More details about the i5-14490F and possibly the i7-14790F are expected to be revealed then.
