Intel announces the discontinuation of the Arc A770 Limited Edition
Recently, Intel surprisingly issued a Product Change Notification (PCN), announcing the discontinuation of the Arc A770 Limited Edition. It has been marked as entering the EOL (End-of-Life) phase, indicating that production of this graphics card has ceased. The Arc A770 Limited Edition was released on October 12th last year and has been on the market for 8 months.
This signifies that retailers can no longer order more units of the Arc A770 Limited Edition from Intel. However, other partners will still offer Arc-branded cards featuring the same GPU and equipped with 16GB of VRAM, such as Acer and Blue Blade products. Currently, the Arc A750 and Arc A770 models available in the market primarily feature 8GB of VRAM, with the latter offering a high-capacity version with 16GB of VRAM. However, the selection of available models and their supply volume are limited.
The Arc A770 Limited Edition utilizes the full ACM-G10 chip, featuring 32 Xe cores based on the Xe-HPG architecture. The base clock is set at 2100MHz, and the graphics card is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM, with a 256-bit memory interface. The memory speed is 17.5Gbps, providing a memory bandwidth of 560GB/s. The power consumption is rated at 225W, and the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is $349. It supports the latest display specifications such as HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), XeSS, ray tracing, customizable operations using Arc Control, AV1 encoding/decoding, and other dedicated hardware video decoding capabilities.
Due to its appealing design and the rare inclusion of a generous 16GB VRAM within its price range, the Arc A770 Limited Edition received a warm reception from some users. The production of the Arc A750 Limited Edition is ongoing, as no product change notifications have been issued for it. Currently, it stands as the most cost-effective option within the Arc graphics card product line.
