Although Google’s long-rumored Pixel Watch has finally met everyone recently, the mysterious foldable smartphone owned by Google has not yet been seen. According to the latest report from
The Elec, the folding phone may not be available for another year.
Google originally planned to launch this foldable smartphone in 2021, but it was later delayed to the fourth quarter of 2022 for various reasons. However, this phone was not seen at the Google I/O event held earlier this month, which may have indicated that this foldable smartphone will be delayed again.
The Elec said that people familiar with the matter said that the delay was because Google felt that the completion of the phone was not as high as they thought, that is, it was not finished. In addition, supply chain analyst Ross Young also posted that he learned from multiple sources that Google’s foldable smartphone will be delayed until next spring.
Google’s long-lost folding screen phone is said to have two designs. One folds horizontally like the Galaxy Z Fold, while the other is a clamshell-like Z Flip, codenamed “Passport” and the latter “Jumbojack.” The Elec said that the “Passport” version will use a 7.57-inch main screen produced by Samsung and a 5.78-inch external screen, and will use an ultra-thin glass cover.
