Google Search highlights the result related to COVID-19 announcements
In view of the severe situation of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus, Google is launching various measures to ensure that relevant information can be quickly searched.
In particular, suggestions related to new coronaviruses will be highlighted, and these data sources are mainly submitted by government agencies and media through webmaster tools.
For this purpose, Google has launched structured data called special announcements. “Sites can add SpecialAnnouncement structured data to their web pages or submit a COVID-19 announcement in Search Console.” In addition to the regular page display, Google can also automatically display a variety of suggestions and notifications related to it.
For example, when searching, users can directly see important update prompts such as staying at home and suspending classes. Of course, these messages are only authorized by the authority.
Google claims that government agencies and public media can submit through structured data, and after Google collects the data, it will be integrated and displayed in the search results.
Finally, Google also emphasized that based on accuracy considerations, the data submitted by non-governmental organizations or public media may not be displayed to prevent fake news and rumors.
