After the official launch of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for Windows and Mac platforms last week, both Google and Mozilla presented cakes to Microsoft.

Joshua Berenhaus, a member of the development team for the Microsoft Edge browser, commented on the cake and said that the cake presented by Mozilla has a coffee flavor, and also guessed that the cake might have been ordered at Mike’s Amazing Cakes near Microsoft headquarters.
Although giving away cakes is a long tradition, Mozilla may not be happy with Microsoft’s decision to migrate Edge to Chromium. Mozilla CEO Chris Beard has criticized Microsoft for using the same engine as Chrome because he believes that Microsoft has passed more control over users online to Google. If a product like Chromium has enough market share, the company behind it will have more say, which will lead to a certain degree of monopoly. As a result, other web developers and businesses have to consider their services and sites’ support for Chromium.
