Google introduces generative AI technology to Workspace, accelerating content creation speed in documents
In tandem with other enterprises applying generative artificial intelligence technology to their services, Google has announced its integration within Workspace, emphasizing the responsible expansion of AI technology development.
Google asserts that breakthroughs in generative AI technology have fundamentally altered how people interact with technology. The newly added features in Workspace utilize generative AI to create content and foster connections with others, thus enhancing collaborative outcomes.
Developers and businesses can now access the latest APIs and products through Google Cloud and the new MakerSuite prototyping environment, enabling them to easily and securely use Google’s optimized AI models in a scalable manner.
In addition to the previously introduced Smart Compose feature in Gmail and the automatic content summarization in Google Docs, Google now allows users to input their desired writing topic, and the system will generate a draft automatically. This reduces the time users spend creating content from scratch and enables further adjustments in tone, content refinement, or elaboration, resulting in more professional content and shorter overall writing time.
Google anticipates providing this feature to testers within the coming weeks to verify its practical efficacy.
With the new PaLM language model API, developers can seamlessly and securely integrate language models to construct various AI applications, supported by the intuitive MakerSuite tool. Google plans to offer more diverse model specifications, promoting prompt engineering tasks, data generation integration, and custom model adjustments, all while bolstered by robust security tools for operational stability.
For developers interested in using generative AI technology to create and customize internal models and applications, Google Cloud’s AI model development services, including PaLM, are available. New generative AI features have also been added to the Google Cloud AI product suite, assisting developers and organizations in achieving enterprise-level security, protection, and privacy.
