Google Fuchsia will add support for AMD processors
Although we can’t directly use the Fuchsia system that Google is developing, the news about this version of the system has never stopped. Previously, Fuchsia directly added support for Android applications so that users can not lack applications, but also allows developers to greatly reduce the workload of compatibility.
According to the previous speculation that this Fuchsia that Google is developing will replace Android and ChromeOS systems, and then complete the platform-wide compatibility support. In order to make this new operating system available on all platforms, the Fuchsia development team is actively adding support for AMD processors. According to 9to5google reports, the relevant code has been added to the Fuchsia source code. The code description supports multiple boot images and supports multi-system booting.
As you know, there aren’t a lot of devices running the ChromeOS system, and many users like to install multiple systems even after purchase. Because ChromeOS is still a network-based operating system, after all, there is a weakness inconvenience, and more users install multiple systems to switch at any time. But unlike ChromeOS, Fuchsia uses the Zircon kernel developed by Google itself, not the current mainstream Linux kernel. Therefore, in terms of compatibility, Google must support AMD processor users to install, and this update will also pave the way for the subsequent development of Fuchsia.
The Google engineering team responsible for developing the operating system said it hopes to achieve this goal in order to continue to develop FuchsiaOS on the AMD platform. The current Zircon kernel is not yet compatible with the AMD platform, so we have to complete this development so that the Fuchsia system can run on more platforms.
