Google are solving the problem of Windows 10 antivirus software causing instability in Chrome
Earlier we mentioned that Microsoft engineers helped Google Chrome improve the dark mode. This article is about Google engineers working with Microsoft to improve the antivirus experience.
We know that Google Chrome itself has built-in Google’s safe browsing service, and when Google detects that the link accessed or downloaded by the user is malicious, Chrome will block it.
However, Google Chrome is only a browser and not antivirus software. Therefore, it will release the unrecognized ones but will call the Microsoft antivirus software for detection.
So sometimes when we download something, we will see a prompt that a virus is detected. If we see this prompt, it means that Microsoft Defender is actively blocking it.
Google engineers have found that sometimes Windows 10 antivirus software can cause browser instability. This problem is caused by antivirus detection and competition.
Google Chrome will continuously read and write cache files when performing tasks, while Microsoft antivirus software will perform detection on all files to ensure safety.
Sometimes it takes a long time for Microsoft antivirus software to detect files, which will cause Google Chrome to fail to write files normally and cause some functional abnormalities.
A common problem is that when Google Chrome adds bookmarks, synchronizes bookmarks, and other data, it sometimes fails due to Microsoft antivirus software.
This failure may cause the new bookmarks we added cannot be synchronized to the cloud in time, or the new bookmarks added to the cloud cannot be sent back to the local in time, etc.
Google engineers have confirmed the problem after checking in cooperation with Microsoft. At present, Google engineers have developed a very simple fix to solve the problem.
The reason why this repair procedure is extremely simple is that Google’s solution is to write the file several times, and every time it is written to ensure that the file is up to date.
Google engineers said that the problem only affects the Windows 10 version of Google Chrome, and does not exist on other platforms, so there is no need for particularly complex repairs.
This fix has already been mentioned that the Chromium project is under review. After the review is passed, Google may push it directly to users through hot updates.
