Google announces suspension of version updates for Chrome and Chrome OS
Google today made the announcement said it will temporarily interrupt the updated version of Chrome and Chrome OS, and to give priority to security and stability.
Google writes on a blog:
Due to adjusted work schedules at this time, we are pausing upcoming Chrome and Chrome OS releases. Our primary objectives are to ensure they continue to be stable, secure, and work reliably for anyone who depends on them. We’ll continue to prioritize any updates related to security, which will be included in Chrome 80. Please, follow this blog for updates.
Generally, Chrome and Chrome OS updates are released every six weeks. Currently, due to work plan adjustments caused by remote work, Google has chosen to temporarily suspend the release of new versions. Yesterday, the day before the announcement, Chrome developers also posted new features of Chrome 81 and stated that Chrome 81 is coming soon.
