Google announces cancellation of Google I/O 2020
Google today announced that it will completely cancel this year’s developer conference, Google I/O 2020 and will not be held in any way, including online.
A #GoogleIO update: Out of concern for the health and safety of our developers, employees, and local communities — and in line with “shelter in place” requirements by the local Bay Area government — we sadly will not be holding an I/O event in any capacity this year. (1/3)

The annual developer conference was originally scheduled for May 12-14 at the Coastline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. In early March, Google issued a notice announcing the cancellation of the live meeting and said that it was exploring other ways to carry out activities.
There are concerns that this will also affect the progress of Android and other products, and Google responded that it will share ongoing Android updates through community forums and developer blogs.
