GIGABYTE releases white version of Z790/B760M AORUS motherboard
Gigabyte unveiled its Z790 AORUS PRO X and B760M AORUS ELITE X AX motherboards, both graced with an almost entirely silvery-white aesthetic. Some interfaces and slots, such as PCIe and SATA, are rendered in stark black. Historically, Gigabyte favored color schemes of orange, green, and blue for different product lines. However, they now seem to have transitioned to more subdued palettes of black, silver-white, or deep gray, embracing a minimalist and understated design ethos.
Given that Intel has no plans to introduce new chipsets for this year’s 14th-generation Core, motherboard manufacturers have been refining and tweaking their offerings based on the previous generation. Most are opting to bolster power delivery, support higher-frequency memories, and integrate modern features like Wi-Fi 7. Moreover, these motherboards are designed to be compatible with both the 12th and 13th-generation Core. Compared to competitors like ASUS, MSI, and ASRock, Gigabyte’s Z790 offering appears to be a tad tardy.
Gigabyte claims that the Z790 AORUS PRO X and B760M AORUS ELITE X AX motherboards when XMP is enabled, can support DDR5 memory with rates reaching 8266 MT/s. They’ve introduced PCIe and M.2 with an EZ-Latch design for easy removal and have incorporated the “Sensor Panel Link” for external display connectivity.
The Z790 AORUS PRO X showcases an 18+1+2 phase power design, equipped with four DDR5 memory slots, a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot poised for next-gen GPUs, a 5GbE Ethernet card, Wi-Fi 7 support, and an onboard Realtek ALC1220 audio solution. Gigabyte has yet to release specifics regarding the B760M AORUS ELITE X AX, but it’s anticipated that the two share many design similarities.
Gigabyte remained tight-lipped about the pricing and precise release dates for these new products.
