G.SKILL Unveils Zeta R5 Neo: Memory Overclocking Takes Center Stage for AMD
In October, AMD officially launched the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors, which boast significant enhancements in core architecture, CCD count, core number, and memory support compared to the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000. As the release date draws nearer, manufacturers have been successively introducing compatible accessories.
Recently, G.SKILL announced the release of its Zeta R5 Neo series of overclocked DDR5 R-DIMM memory, specifically designed for the new generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper platform. This series is compatible with the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series and Threadripper Pro 7000 WX series processors, as well as their respective motherboards, the AMD TRX50 and WRX90 chipset. Notably, this marks AMD’s first officially supported memory overclocking R-DIMM platform.
The G.SKILL Zeta R5 Neo series offers two models: 64 GB (16GB x4) and 128 GB (32GB x4), with quad-channel packaging that facilitates easy installation on motherboards supporting four or eight channels. These memory modules come with AMD EXPO memory overclocking profiles, enabling frequencies up to 6400MHz after activation in the motherboard BIOS. They feature timings of CL32-39-39-102 and are equipped with On-Die ECC and Side-Band ECC, enhancing data transmission accuracy and reliability by effectively detecting and correcting data errors. To improve clock and command signals at high frequencies, the series also includes an RCD (Registered Clock Driver).
According to Techpowerup, this series of memory has already started shipping to G.SKILL’s global distribution partners this month and is expected to hit the market soon.
