Facebook and WhatsApp will be forced to share users’ encrypted messages with the UK police

Informed sources said that according to a new treaty between the United States and Britain, US social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp, will be forced to share user encrypted information with the British police. The person familiar with the matter said the agreement, due to be signed next month, would force social media companies to share information to support individuals who are suspected of serious crimes such as terrorism.

Facebook sold private message

Britain’s Home Secretary, Priti Patel, has previously warned that Facebook’s plans to allow users to send end-to-end encrypted messages will benefit criminals and call on social media companies to develop “backdoors” that enable intelligence agencies to access their messaging platform.

As part of the agreement, Anglo-American has agreed not to investigate each other’s citizens. Under no circumstances can the United States use the information obtained from British companies to execute the death penalty.
