EA announced the new EA Sports FC logo

In May of last year, EA announced that its licensing agreement with FIFA would conclude in the summer of 2023, unable to secure a renewal. Consequently, the last game in the original FIFA series was “FIFA 23.” EA had previously confirmed that the FIFA series would be rebranded as EA Sports FC and recently unveiled the brand’s new logo.

The EA Sports FC brand will make appearances in over 100 matches across various global leagues, allowing football enthusiasts to witness the new brand identity outdoors for the first time through EA SPORTS’ partners, including the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, CONMEBOL, WSL, and NWSL, among others.

Nick Wlodyka, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Sports FC, stated that the “EA Sports FC” brand marks a new chapter, with EA having driven and led the development of football games for more than three decades, creating a worldwide football community. “EA Sports FC” will symbolize innovation and transformation in the sport, with more information to be revealed to fans in July.

The design inspiration for the EA Sports FC brand originates from dominant shapes in matches and football culture, representing the sport through multi-dimensional triangles. From passing techniques to set pieces, triangles have been integrated into EA SPORTS’ football experience DNA for decades, such as forming equilateral polygons in the game or triangular indicators above players’ heads. EA claims the new logo embodies its history of developing football games.

After the game is renamed EA Sports FC, EA’s partnerships with leagues such as the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and MLS will persist, and the game will still possess licensing for over 19,000 players, more than 700 clubs, over 30 stadiums, and 30 leagues.
