Chuwi launched the Corebook X with an updated configuration
The laptop produced by Chuwi can be considered a prime example of a cost-effective device. Last year, they launched the Corebook X, a slim laptop featuring a 2K display, an aluminum alloy body, and an Intel Core i3-10110U processor. According to a report by Liliputing, Chuwi recently upgraded the Corebook X’s specifications, with the new laptop model sporting an Intel Core i3-1215U processor.
The previous Core i3-10110U was a 15W dual-core, quad-threaded processor, built on the Comet Lake architecture, still utilizing the 14nm process, with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.10GHz. Its integrated GPU contained 32 execution units (EUs).
The new Core i3-1215U, based on the Alder Lake architecture and the Intel 7 process, is considerably more powerful. It features a 2 P-Core + 4 E-Core design, with a total of 8 threads and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.40GHz. The integrated GPU’s EU count has also increased to 64.
Moreover, the new Chuwi Corebook X has upgraded its memory support from LPDDR4-2666 to LPDDR5-6400. Chuwi offers two versions for users to choose from 8GB and 16GB. As for storage, a 512GB NVMe SSD is pre-installed across the board.
Other specifications have not changed significantly, such as the 14-inch 2160 x 1440 IPS display, the 46.2Wh battery, and the aluminum alloy body. In terms of I/O, the Corebook X provides a USB 3.0 Type-A, a full-featured USB Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroSD card reader, making it quite well-rounded. However, its power adapter still uses the commonly seen DC round port.
The Chuwi Corebook X laptop is available from AliExpress for $470 and up. Compared to most thin-and-light laptops equipped with the 12th generation Core processors, the Corebook X’s pricing advantage is particularly evident. Nevertheless, it seems more suitable for experienced users capable of optimizing and maintaining their computers.
