CAPCOM announced that Street Fighter VI has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide

Following a seven-year hiatus, Capcom’s “Street Fighter” series has made its triumphant return with the release of “Street Fighter VI” on June 2nd, making its debut on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.

Capcom proudly declared that the global cumulative sales of “Street Fighter VI” have breached the one million mark, pushing the “Street Fighter” series’ total sales to exceed a staggering fifty million copies.

Since its inaugural release in 1987, the “Street Fighter” series, now surpassing 35 years, has continuously captivated the gaming community, amassing a dedicated, passionate fanbase throughout its illustrious tenure. As a vanguard of the new generation of fighting games, “Street Fighter VI” garnered significant attention prior to its release, due to numerous enhancements. Capcom has vigorously marketed the new title, particularly within the esports realm. Rumour has it that this year’s Capcom Pro Tour (CPT) will feature a “Street Fighter VI” prize pool amounting to $2 million, with a whopping $1 million reserved for the champion, representing the highest tournament prize in Capcom’s history.
