AYANEO shared more news about the Android handheld – AYANEO Pocket Air
At the outset of the year, during their strategic briefing, AYANEO announced their intent to develop an Android handheld device named the AYANEO Pocket Air. They also unveiled specific details about the console, such as its controller and screen features. Recently, AYANEO has broadcast further information through livestreams and blog posts, including the System on Chip (SoC) that the device will employ.
The dimensions of the AYANEO Pocket Air have been confirmed, with a thickness of 17mm and a weight of around 380g, affirming its sleek and lightweight stature. AYANEO has described it as being easily pocketable, akin to a smartphone. Details about its 5.5-inch OLED display have also been revealed. The panel is AMOLED with a resolution of 1080P, boasting 180-degree viewing angles, swift response times, and minimal light leakage.
The performance of the AYANEO Pocket Air, arguably its most highly anticipated aspect, has been made public by the company. It utilizes the MTK Dimensity 1200 SoC, based on the TSMC 6nm process. The CPU configuration comprises one 3.0GHz A78 super-core, three 2.6GHz A78 large cores, and four 2.0GHz A55 efficiency cores, while the GPU is a Mali-G77 MC9. Additionally, the company mentions that this Android handheld is equipped with an X86-grade active cooling system, inclusive of a large-sized air cooling system with three preset fan speeds.
As for battery life, the company claims that the AYANEO Pocket Air is equipped with a large, Windows handheld-grade battery, with a capacity of 7350mAh.
In terms of software, AYANEO has developed the AYAHome launcher and AYASpace game management software for this handheld. For users familiar with the AYANEO Windows handheld, this will allow for swift acclimatization to this Android device. Recognizing that many players opt for Android handhelds to run emulator games, AYANEO has also launched a dedicated cloud gaming database, capable of scraping game information, offering users a user-friendly gateway to retro gaming.
Another crucial piece of information pertains to the release date. The company has stated that the AYANEO Pocket Air is projected to officially launch in August.
