MediaTek released Dimensity 1200 5G flagship chip

MediaTek held a Dimensity new product launch conference last night and released Dimensity 1200 flagship 5G mobile chip, saying that it will bring users the all-powerful flagship smartphone experience.

Dimensity 1200 has been fully upgraded in terms of performance, 5G connections, multimedia support, and games. Compared with Dimensity 1000, the performance has improved significantly, but it still uses the same 6nm process.

The Dimensity 1200 is manufactured by TSMC and is built with a 6nm process. In terms of architecture, the 1+3+4 flagship three-cluster architecture design is enabled, which are super large cores, large cores, and small cores. The super large core is the A78 core, and the highest main frequency is 3.0GHz.

The GPU has a nine-core architecture with a performance improvement of 13% compared to the Dimensity 1000; the six-core APU 3.0 architecture has an AI performance improvement of 12.5% compared to the Dimensity 1000; the chip supports dual-channel UFS 3.1 memory chips.

Dimensity 1200 supports global 5G operators from the full frequency band of Sub-6GHz, supports 5G dual-carrier aggregation; supports 5G dual card standby, and VoNR voice services under the 5G SA/NSA dual-module network.

Dimensity 1200 supports intelligent scene sensing, which can greatly increase the 5G downlink speed on high-speed rails and achieve high-speed network stationing throughout the entire journey; in elevator mode, 5G connections can be quickly restored to realize smart 5G network stationing.

In addition, MediaTek provides 5G UltraSave power-saving technology, which can reduce the power consumption of 5G communication and save power in SA networking.

Dimensity 1200 AI night shooting speed is 20% higher than Dimensity 1000; supports single frame progressive Staggered 4K HDR video recording; supports AI multi-person blur/multi-depth of field intelligent focus/AI streaming media quality enhancement; supports AI SDR-to-HDR with dynamic, per-frame PQ tuning, AI scene detection, and contrast control.
