AyaNeo Next/Pro starts crowdfunding

AyaNeo recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for its AyaNeo Next/Pro handhelds and also revealed the prices of these handhelds for early backers and after mass production. Depending on the configuration combination, the cheapest early version is $1,285, and after that, some AyaNeo Next/Pro versions will cost $1,535.

The basic parameters of AyaNeo Next/Pro are similar. Both have a 7-inch IPS LCD touch screen with a resolution of 1280*800, which is similar to Valve’s Steam Deck, and the processor uses AMD’s Ryzen 7 5825U. This processor has 8 Zen 3 cores and a Vega 8-core GPU, which is an upgraded version of the Ryzen 7 5800U. However, for those who did not use AMD’s latest Ryzen 6000 series processors, there should be many people disappointed, because the Ryzen 6000 series is equipped with a GPU of the RDNA 2 architecture, and the GPU is the most critical factor limiting the performance of handheld games.

In terms of memory and storage space, the Next has up to 16GB of LPDDR4X 4226 memory, while the Pro has 32GB. For storage space, everyone chooses whether to want 1TB or 2TB on the Next, while the Pro is directly given to 2TB.

AyaNeo Next/Pro has WiFi 6E wireless connection, 2 full-featured USB Type-C interfaces that can provide PD 3.0 charging, which means DP 1.4 output and 4K@60 frame display.

At present, the most basic price of AyaNeo Next/Pro is more than $1000. Competitiveness in this regard may be a bit lacking compared to Steam Deck, after all, the Steam Deck 512GB version costs only $649, even if the storage space is relatively small, this problem can be solved with an external SD card. However, compared to the fact that Steam Deck is hard to find, if AyaNeo Next/Pro can do better than Steam Deck in terms of supply, it will be an advantage.
