ASUS launches RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB series graphics cards
In February of this year, NVIDIA officially announced the launch of the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB, featuring the GA107 GPU. This new entry-level graphics card, compared to the 8GB version, has reduced numbers of CUDA cores and memory specifications. However, its power consumption has been significantly decreased from 130W to 70W, eliminating the need for an external power connector, as the 75W provided by the PCIe slot is sufficient to power the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB. Thanks to its lower power consumption, numerous manufacturers, including Gigabyte and Galax, have developed half-height versions of this chip.
Recently, ASUS has also joined the ranks of manufacturers offering half-height RTX 3050 6GB graphics cards, launching the GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB series. This lineup includes both an overclocked (OC) version and a standard version, neither requiring an external power supply. The new product line is now listed on the international version of their official website.
The ASUS RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB series measures 182x69x40 mm, with a dual-slot thickness. It features a large aluminum block for cooling the GPU chip and memory, is equipped with two high-durability dual-ball bearing fans, and meets the IP5X dust resistance standard. The standard version of this graphics card has a default boost frequency of 1470MHz, which can reach 1500MHz in OC mode. The OC version starts at a higher default of 1507MHz, reaching 1537MHz in OC mode, both surpassing the previously reported Galax GeForce RTX 3050 6GB LP White (1485MHz) and Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3050 OC Low Profile 6G (1477MHz).
In terms of ports, the ASUS RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB series includes one DP1.4a port, one HDMI2.1 port, and one DVI port, supporting up to a 7680×4320 resolution output. The cards are designed with a half-height PCIe bracket layout and come with a half-height PCIe bracket.
Currently, the price and domestic launch date of this graphics card are yet to be announced. Considering the price of ASUS’s currently available DUAL GeForce RTX 3050 O6G graphics card is set at 1599 yuan, it is anticipated that the GeForce RTX 3050 LP BRK 6GB series may be similarly priced or slightly higher due to its compact design.
The GeForce RTX 3050 6GB is equipped with the GA107 GPU. Compared to the 8GB version, the number of CUDA units has been reduced from 2560 to 2304, the GDDR6 memory capacity from 8GB to 6GB, and the memory bus width from 128-bit to 96-bit. The memory speed remains at 14Gbps, but the corresponding bandwidth has been decreased from 224GB/s to 168GB/s, and the total power consumption has been reduced from 130W to 70W, eliminating the need for an external power supply.
