ASUS launches ROG STRIX XG259CMS monitor
Recently, the new ROG STRIX XG259CMS monitor was launched on the international version of the ASUS website, representing a significant upgrade over the currently available XG259CM. It features a completely redesigned base and is equipped with a 1080P Fast IPS screen that offers a refresh rate of up to 310Hz, specifically targeting professional gamers who demand high levels of screen fluidity.
The ROG STRIX XG259CMS introduces a fresh design language, similar to that of the recently released ROG STRIX XG27ACS and ROG STRIX XG27UCS. The overall design is minimalist, balancing functionality and high performance. It is equipped with an adjustable ergonomic stand that saves significant desk space. Additionally, the base includes a convenient mobile phone holder that allows players to keep their phones within easy reach and charge them via the monitor’s built-in Type-C port.
The device features a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a resolution of 1080P (1920 x 1080), a refresh rate of 310Hz, a response time (GtG) of 1ms, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and 100% sRGB color gamut. Each monitor is rigorously factory pre-calibrated before shipment. Furthermore, the ROG STRIX XG259CMS supports ASUS’s Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) technology, is NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, and AMD FreeSync enabled, with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) by default, and has received VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.
This monitor is equipped with AI-driven GamePlus technology, which analyzes scenes in real-time and adjusts the GamePlus crosshair to enhance targeting accuracy. The Dynamic Shadow Boost feature enhances detail in dark areas without affecting other parts of the image, making enemies more recognizable. Players can also easily adjust OSD and monitor settings through the ASUS DisplayWidget Center using a mouse.
The ROG STRIX XG259CMS includes an HDMI 2.0 port (supporting refresh rates from 48 to 240Hz), a DP 1.4 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack, plus a USB Type-C port (outputting 7.5W) that can charge phones, ROG handhelds, and other devices during gaming. The monitor also supports a 100 x 100mm VESA mount, allowing for easy stand replacement.
