ASRock will soon launch B550M PRO SE motherboard
As the AM5 platform unfolds, AMD’s AM4 platform is gradually concluding its reign. Yet, processors from the Ryzen 5000 series, built on the Zen 3 architecture, still possess commendable gaming capabilities. Coupled with cost-effective attributes like DDR4 memory support, the AM4 platform remains a popular choice among gamers on a budget.
Recently, Twitter user @AnhPhuH divulged that ASRock is set to introduce a motherboard christened “B550M PRO SE”, sporting an all-white color scheme. In contrast to ASRock’s typical designs, the B550M PRO SE features a white PCB, unlike the Aqua, Taichi Carrara, and Steel Legend series which combine white heat sink with black PCBs. Some speculate that the distinctive white theme, along with the older chipset support, could enhance the product’s appeal.
The B550M PRO SE, adhering to the M-ATX standards, incorporates an 8-phase power supply design and is furnished with a 24Pin motherboard power supply and an 8Pin CPU power supply interface. Owing to BIOS capacity constraints, the B550M PRO SE cannot support all AM4 processors. It can accommodate the Ryzen 3000 (Matisse) series and Ryzen 5000 (Vermeer) series, while the APU supports the Ryzen 3000G (Picasso) series, Ryzen 4000G (Renoir) series, and Ryzen 5000G (Cezanne) series.
The B550M PRO SE is equipped with four DDR4 memory slots, with support for up to 128GB of DDR4 memory. It provides two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, accompanied by two M.2 slots—one being a Hyper M.2 slot that supports PCIe 4.0 x4 channels—and four SATA III interfaces. In terms of I/O, in addition to multiple USB ports, it includes an ethernet port, a PS/2 interface, audio interfaces, and HDMI and DP interfaces.
Considering the configuration of the B550M PRO SE, its price point is expected to align closely with the mainstream market.
