ASRock to enter the gaming monitor market
In recent years, many manufacturers are expanding new product lines. Compared with the top three motherboard manufacturers, ASRock’s product line is relatively simple, but with the extensive cooperation with AMD recently, ASRock has also launched Radeon graphics cards and also plans to enter the gaming monitor market.
As reported by Wccftech, ASRock will introduce several gaming monitors under its Phantom Gaming product line. There are currently four known monitors, including the PG34WQ15R, PG27FF, and a 32-inch and a 42-inch product.
The PG34WQ15R uses a 34-inch VA panel with a resolution of 3440 x 1440, the refresh rate of the DisplayPort interface is 48-165Hz, and the refresh rate of the HDMI interface is 48-100Hz. The PG27FF uses a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and the refresh rate of the DisplayPort interface and HDMI interface are both 48-165Hz. The 32-inch specification is unclear for the time being, but at least it is 1440P resolution. The 42-inch model is the PG42U with a 4K resolution and should have similar specs to the Asus ROG Strix XG43UQ, which will have a 144Hz or higher refresh rate.
Expect more information such as pricing, detailed specs, and release date in the coming months as we get closer to launch.
As the current core partner of AMD, ASRock gaming monitors all seem to support AMD FreeSync Premium, which means HDR will also be supported. AMD FreeSync Premium requires a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120Hz, a resolution of at least 1920 x 1080, and Low Frame Rate Compensation (LFC).
