ASRock launched the B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard
Recently, ASRock launched the B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard. The motherboard is currently available on overseas e-commerce platforms for $139.99 and is one of the more cost-effective products in the same chipset category, approaching AMD’s original promise of $125.
The B650M-HDV/M.2 motherboard is of the Micro-ATX form factor, using an 8+1+1 phase power supply, with 50A Dr.MOS. It provides two DDR5 memory slots, supporting up to DDR5-6400+ specifications, with a maximum capacity of 64GB, and is compatible with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP memory modules. The motherboard has two full-length PCIe 4.0 slots, one operating in x16 mode and the other in x4 mode, as well as a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. It also has one PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot and one PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot, both supporting the 2280 specification, as well as four SATA III interfaces. The motherboard also has a 2230 M.2 slot for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, supporting Wi-Fi 6/6E modules.
As for the rear I/O, the B650M-HDV/M.2 is equipped with one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, one DP 1.4 port, and a 2.5Gbps network card interface (Realtek RTL8125B). The audio solution is provided by Realtek ALC897, with a BIOS one-key update button. The motherboard also has a USB 3.2 Gen2 connector, two USB 3.2 Gen1 connectors, and two USB 2.0 headers, as well as a Thunderbolt connector that supports ASRock Thunderbolt 4 AIC cards, meaning that the motherboard can provide a Thunderbolt 4 interface.
Previously, AMD had stated that it would expand its B650 series motherboard product line to meet a wider range of pricing needs, and motherboard manufacturers would also attempt to lower the price of B650 motherboards to attract consumers to the AM5 platform. In addition, AMD will be launching the entry-level A620 chipset, further reducing the cost of building an AM5 platform.
